Our team is actively seeking a motivated and talented AVP Tech, Software Development Engineer in Test who is passionate about testing software through automation. You will be part of an inter-disciplinary team of hardware, firmware, software, system, and test engineers to develop and integrate cutting-edge technologies for a Financial Services Company, building E2E automation solutions connecting the Advisor Platform, Investor Platform, and Teammates. You will work closely with product and engineering teams to understand features, develop and automate test cases, improve product quality, and shorten release time from dev to production. Responsibilities: Apply diverse software testing methodologies—including AI-driven test generation and predictive analytics—to ensure robust and scalable software delivery. Coordinate and lead end-to-end (E2E) testing efforts across domains, leveraging AI tools for test orchestration, anomaly detection, and intelligent defect triaging. Identify manual processes and implement intelligent automation solutions using AI/ML frameworks to optimize testing efficiency and reduce cycle time. Actively Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies and lead where applicable – PI Planning, Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Defect Review, Sprint Demo, Restrospectives, etc. Actively participate in story grooming, analysis, and understanding the user story acceptance criteria Develop and execute a test plan, test cases based on the user stories, and ensure proper test coverage Perform sprint testing, service/API testing, Integration / E2E testing, regression final build certification, and release day testing Automating tests using internal and open-source tools & infrastructure Working with software engineers to understand product architecture, integrations, and features Documenting, tracking bugs to closure, and reporting on project status to stakeholders Working in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high-quality software Ability to write complex queries to perform data validation Serves as SME for one or more functional areas, acts as technology ambassador for automation, and builds efficient solutions Leads process, technology improvement efforts, KPIs/OKRs within the quality engineering team and a larger part of the organization to improve engineer productivity, Speed, and Quality. Requirements: Minimum of 12 years of experience working as a Developer, QA Engineer, or SDET working in Agile scrum teams OR Bachelor’s Degree, Computer Science or similar, plus 6+ years of experience Hands-on experience in software development and test automation, advanced concurrent programming skills in Java/Python, exposure to AI-assisted development tools, and automation frameworks like Selenium, Appium, TestNG, etc. Experience designing and building scalable automation frameworks, focusing on integrating AI/ML for intelligent test generation and maintenance. Hands-on experience with test processes, test methodologies, test strategy, test plan, and test case design & execution. Hands-on experience with Web services, Testing, and automation development Technology Competencies: Experience managing AI-driven quality engineering programs and cross-functional automation strategies. Proven experience with CI/CD pipelines, including integration of AI for test impact analysis, release risk prediction, automated quality gates, and understanding how the QA/automation process fits into the model Proficient in Agile tools like Jira, with experience using AI plugins for sprint planning, backlog grooming, and defect prediction. Knowledge of automation tools like Appium, Xcode, Selenium, BDD, and Cucumber Fluent in API and UI testing and creating automation test suites Financial Industry experience Core Competencies: Must be able to report into an LPL Financial office 2-3 days a week, primary locations are Charlotte/Fort Mill SC or Austin TX Ability to thrive in a fast-paced agile environment where resourcefulness, determination, and strong problem-solving skills are necessary for success.
