About The Position

Responsible for external statutory financial reporting for insurance companies and maintaining compliance for internal and external vendors. Duties & Responsibilities: - Manage the preparation and filings of the US statutory financial statements and regulatory reports. - Manage staff and provide guidance, prioritize workload, and ensure high-quality and timely deliverables. - Ensure accuracy and completeness of statutory filings including quarterly and annual statements, taxes, and regulatory disclosures. - Review and approve statutory journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for regulatory disclosures. - Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, NAIC proposals and adoptions, and updates to Accounting Practices and Procedural manual. - Liaise with external and internal auditors. - Assist with state examination request and other regulatory request. Compensation: The below annualized base pay range is a broad range based on analysis of similar positions in the market. The actual base pay for the position may be above or below he listed range and determined by a number of considerations, including but now limited to complexity, location, and scope of the role, along with experience, skills, education, training, and other conditions of employment. Base salary represents one compensation of Allied World comprehensive total reward package, which may also include annual incentive compensation rewards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance and CPA designation preferred.
  • 6+ years’ experience in the insurance industry preferably with a focus on statutory accounting.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience in GAAP and STAT accounting standards.
  • Advance level Excel skills and SAP experience.
  • Demonstrated creative and critical thinking skills.
  • Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
