About The Position

LPL Financial is seeking an AVP, Principal Software Development to lead a team in developing software solutions that support both internal and external customers. This role involves managing multiple projects, implementing best practices in software development, and collaborating across business units to deliver business value. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 8+ years of professional software development experience with Python and/or C# and SQL.
  • 5+ years' experience as a technical team lead.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in SQL server procedures, views, indexes, and performance tuning.
  • 10+ years of deep expertise with Source Control such as GIT, Bitbucket, or TFS.
  • CI/CD experience with TeamCity/Octopus/Jenkins/Jules.
  • 3+ years of financial services/brokerage firm experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Broad background of software engineering skills on a variety of technologies, specifically Database SQL (preferably Oracle).
  • Experience with PL/SQL, Oracle Forms, and Perl.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of estimation, tools, and principles.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, mentor and inspire a dedicated team of onshore and offshore developers.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects and deliver frequent value to production.
  • Leverage technical expertise to implement software development best practices.
  • Implement application resiliency, scalability, and performance design.
  • Collaborate across business units and product teams to build product vision.
  • Work with quality assurance teams and DevOps to ensure adherence to SDLC processes.
  • Manage day-to-day activities of the team using Agile/Scrum methodology.
  • Develop technical documentation to define system components and workflows.
