About The Position

The AVP, Network Solutions will lead the sales strategy, growth, and execution for HealthStream’s Career Networks—driving revenue across recruitment solutions, digital sponsorships, and SaaS applications for staff engagement, clinical student placements, and student workforce readiness. This role oversees multiple sales teams supporting our leading business to professional (B2P) brands—NurseGrid, myCNAjobs, myClinicalExchange, and CoachUp Care—a connected network of digital destinations reaching millions of engaged nurses, direct caregivers, allied health professionals, and clinical students. As one of the most dynamic and rapidly evolving areas of HealthStream’s portfolio, this business requires a leader with the energy, creativity, and vision to scale into new markets and unlock new commercial opportunities. This role will be expected to build and lead high performing teams that deliver results, foster accountability, and create the conditions for sustained success. Customers span healthcare providers (acute and non acute), payers, higher education institutions, healthcare suppliers and brands, and med device/pharma organizations. The AVP will own all managerial and operational responsibilities necessary to maximize sales performance, including setting annual goals, defining strategic sales plans, expanding revenue in existing and new accounts, ensuring forecasting accuracy, analyzing sales data, and strengthening relationships with key clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher required.
  • 10+ years identifying and closing new business sales opportunities in healthcare, 7+ of which were in a sales leadership role.
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales goals in a management capacity for 5+ consecutive years.
  • Sales management experience in a healthcare technology company with demonstrated ability to quickly expand teams by recruiting strong sales candidates.
  • Experience selling into acute and non acute (Skilled Nursing, Post Acute, Behavioral Health, etc.) healthcare organizations.
  • Deep knowledge of healthcare industry, including buying cycles, key trends, value propositions, and critical success criteria.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Strong presentation skills and executive presence.
  • Strategic mindset, strong business acumen, and effective negotiation skills.
  • Multitask oriented; works with a sense of urgency and a desire for excellence in performance.
  • Enthusiasm and initiative, and ability to operate independently with limited oversight.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Solid computer skills, like Office Suite
  • Knowledge of CRM tools such as Salesforce
  • Use of online demonstration tools (i.e. MS Teams)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Accountability to achieve sales and corporate goals.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior career network, job board or recruitment oriented leadership experience preferred.
  • Prior experience in digital sponsorships is a plus.
  • Selling into the higher education market (nursing schools) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Represent, both internally and externally, HealthStream as an expert in Clinical Student Placement, Career Network and Higher Education solutions.
  • Develop, implement, and lead specific strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals.
  • Cultivate a team culture of trust, comradery, expertise, and accountability to achieve sales goals in both existing and new accounts.
  • Define and execute on clearly defined sales goals and objectives that support the overall sales organization and corporate goals, which include monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and revenue quotas.
  • Direct sales forecasting activities (weekly, monthly, quarterly) and set team and individual performance goals.
  • Prepare data and analysis of individual sales/team performance and results.
  • Develop and update territory plans, manage pipeline in CRM system, update plans and pipeline, support sales leadership in strategy formulation, and present plans / pipeline to sales leadership effectively and succinctly.
  • Participate in sales committees as needed to help support and achieve the SVP Sales specific goals.
  • Participate in product leadership meetings providing customer feedback to further enhance our solution.
  • Manage sales managers/directors as well as individual contributor sales representatives.
  • Direct staffing management to include talent acquisition, successful onboarding & training and performance evaluations to develop and grow an A+ sales team.
  • Plan, schedule and coordinate weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual team meetings.
  • Travel with staff to meet clients and provide instant sales feedback.
  • Ability to identify performance issues of team members and to have difficult conversations as necessary to address.
  • Undertake personal and professional development opportunities to include developing and maintaining outstanding product knowledge, building deep expertise in healthcare trends, and continuing to enhance skills and abilities such as communication, presentation, negotiations, and teamwork.
  • You will be responsible for adhering to all HealthStream security policies, procedures, and assigned training.
