The AVP, Field Operations is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of field activities, ensuring a well-trained and motivated workforce that delivers exceptional customer service. This role involves managing various aspects of field operations, including engineering, maintenance, fulfillment, and contractor management, while ensuring compliance with company standards and government regulations.

  • Oversee the management of daily operations supporting field activities including installation, service, and line activities.
  • Contribute to company strategies through business fulfillment plans, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Provide direction to field management for overall fulfillment of operations including technical, construction, system maintenance, and safety.
  • Develop work productivity, quality, and overtime standards for field technicians; ensure quotas align with business goals.
  • Create business partner relationships to ensure staffing levels are met.
  • Direct implementation of policies and procedures and enforce government regulations regarding cable operations.
  • Manage complex projects to ensure timelines and flawless execution are obtained.
  • Review and analyze Field Ops metrics, evaluate variances with Managers, and establish action plans for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain an effective organization through selection, training, development, compensation, and motivation of staff.
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 10 years of cable industry experience.
  • 10 years of senior-level management experience in multiple locations, preferably in a cable MSO.
  • 8 years of experience managing annual budget preparation and implementation.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly and professionally.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of OSHA rules and regulations, both federal and state.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local franchise and cable regulations.
  • Experience in managing large units or several complex functions.
  • Ability to communicate in a public forum.
  • Knowledge of cable television products and services.
