The Associate Vice President (AVP), ERP Implementation will serve as the strategic and operational leader for the selection, implementation, and ongoing optimization of the company’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. Acting as the primary liaison between Finance, business leaders, and technical teams, this role will ensure that the ERP delivers maximum value across core finance functions—including General Ledger, Financial Planning & Analysis, Business Intelligence/Analytics, Procure-to-Pay, and Travel & Expense Management. This role will be accountable to develop and manage the ERP project plan, timeline, budget and ensure proper resource allocation. They are responsible for setting the ERP roadmap, managing the implementation of the new system, transitioning from the old systems and the overall integration. The AVP will be responsible for coordinating cross-functional stakeholders, tracking and resolving issues, and ensuring successful adoption. This role is critical to enabling the company to scale efficiently, reduce time to close, improve financial accuracy, and generate actionable insights across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in project management, with direct responsibility for ERP or enterprise-scale system initiatives.
  • Must have led at least one highly complex ERP implementation and migration at an enterprise level.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex, cross-functional technology and business transformations.
  • Strong understanding of finance processes (GL, FP&A, Procure-to-Pay, BI/Analytics).
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements in healthcare or Medicare Advantage a plus.
  • Proven ability to track, manage, and resolve program issues while maintaining executive-level communication.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business impact.
  • PMP, PgMP, or similar project management certification strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the ERP program from vendor selection through full implementation and beyond, ensuring timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met.
  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables in collaboration with executive sponsors and functional leads.
  • Establish program governance, including issue tracking, risk management, escalation paths, and progress reporting.
  • Facilitate regular steering committee meetings and provide status updates.
  • Serve as the primary contact point between operators, IT, vendors and executive leadership.
  • Manage the project risk register and ensure mitigation strategies are in place.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams (Finance, IT, Procurement, Operations, external consultants) to align on requirements, design, and testing.
  • Manage vendor relationships and ensure that system performance criteria are met.
  • Drive accountability for issue resolution and ensure decisions are made promptly to maintain momentum.
  • Act as the bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring system capabilities translate into business value.
  • Facilitate clear and consistent communication with executive sponsors, Finance leaders, IT, and system users.
  • Provide regular status updates, progress reports, and key performance metrics to leadership.
  • Lead change management and user adoption efforts through training, engagement, and transparent communication.
  • Ensure the ERP supports scalable processes, accurate and timely reporting, efficient procure-to-pay cycles, and robust planning/analytics.
  • Identify and prioritize enhancements, manage vendor relationships, and oversee continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance, system integrity, and audit readiness.
  • Build and lead a program/project management team responsible for ERP implementation and ongoing support.
  • Develop standards, templates, and best practices for project management and business systems governance.
  • Mentor staff and promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and cross-functional collaboration.
