About The Position

AECOM is looking for an accomplished AVP, Design-Build Manager to lead some of the most complex and high-profile transportation projects. This is an opportunity to shape the future of infrastructure by overseeing large-scale, multi-disciplinary highway and transit programs from concept through delivery. In this role, you’ll leverage your design-build expertise to guide cross-functional teams, manage high-stakes client relationships, and deliver innovative, resilient solutions that improve mobility and strengthen communities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 4 years of leadership experience.

Nice To Haves

  • 15+ years of transportation project experience.
  • Experienced with Design Build delivery for final design.
  • Design Build Project Experience.
  • Experience leading and managing transportation design-build projects on large complex highway projects.
  • Experience managing a large team in a fast-paced environment.
  • State Professional Engineer License, or the ability to obtain within twelve months.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively identifies potential program problems or opportunities, analyzes the issues using all appropriate resources, develops alternatives and arrives at the most optimum approach to mitigate problems or exploit opportunities.
  • Manages the most complex and sensitive projects, often in multiple geographic locations.
  • Acts independently or as a team leader representing IE with consulting firms and is responsible for ensuring that the final product of the project or program team reflects the original scope and budget requirements.
  • Develops and maintains comprehensive program plans, including timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and budget forecasts.
  • Leads cross-functional teams and coordinates activities across multiple departments to ensure program objectives are met.
  • Establishes and maintains strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and executive leadership.
  • Implements and oversees risk management strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate potential program risks.
  • Develops and presents regular program status reports to executive management and stakeholders.
  • Mentors and develops junior program managers and team members to build organizational capacity.
  • Drives continuous improvement initiatives to enhance program management processes and methodologies.
  • Ensures compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and company policies throughout program execution.
  • Negotiates and manages complex contracts with vendors and partners to support program objectives.
  • Leads change management efforts to facilitate successful program implementation and adoption.
