Department Overview The Debt Operations department encompasses the Underwriting, Closing, Servicing, and Asset Management teams, which collaborate closely to manage all credit and operational functions within W&D’s GSE lending platform. These teams are dedicated to processing client business with a high degree of efficiency and meticulous attention to detail while ensuring strict adherence to credit policies as well as all lender and investor requirements. The Servicing team is highly rated with its Fitch rating of CPS1- and manages the 10th largest CRE debt portfolio in the United States. Supporting these core functions, the Debt Operations Compliance & Analytics team provides comprehensive risk oversight, ensures process integrity, and delivers data-driven insights across the entire Debt Operations platform. This team plays a critical role in enabling Underwriting, Closing, Servicing, and Asset Management to operate effectively and maintain compliance with regulatory standards. The Impact You Will Have As AVP, Debt Operations Analytics, you will lead the data-driven solutions for Debt Operations (Underwriting, Closing, Servicing, Asset Management). You will define what we measure and how we measure it—owning the KPI/KRI strategy, metric definitions, dashboards, and executive scorecards. You’ll guide analysts and business partners to turn operational goals into trusted, action-oriented reporting, drive low-touch AI adoption to improve efficiency and data quality, and partner with WDTech to prioritize and deliver Debt Ops data needs while supporting broader company tech initiatives that involve Debt Ops data. You will work closely with Compliance to reduce repeat exceptions and improve data integrity across the platform.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Business Analytics, Data Science or related field
  • 5+ years in analytics/business intelligence or data product roles within financial services; multifamily/GSE or adjacent CRE experience preferred
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Proven delivery of Power BI / Power Query / DAX solutions and advanced Excel; working SQL for reconciliations, exception logic, and performance tuning.
  • Expertise using AI tools such as ChatGpt
  • Demonstrated data-quality and governance experience: defining CDEs, building rules/thresholds, and running exception programs with measurable improvement.
  • Clear written and verbal communication; proven follow-through, prioritization, and cross-functional teamwork
  • Courtesy, respect, and thoughtfulness in teaming with colleagues and other stakeholders
  • Attendance is generally required from 8:30 am – 5:30 pm local time, Tuesday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays

Responsibilities

  • Reporting & Dashboard Leadership Set the BI roadmap and design standards; Guide the analytics team to build/maintain self-serve reports and impactful dashboards in PowerBI for Debt Ops (UW/Closing/Servicing/AM) Establish a Debt Ops KPI/KRI framework that links process health and risk indicators to enterprise objectives, and publish executive scorecards that highlight insights, trends, and actions Maintain user guides, job aids, FAQs, and quick starts; ensure the team delivers training resources to boost BI adoption Maintain an inventory of reports (purpose, owner, audience) and lead periodic reviews to retire/merge reports no longer used
  • WDTech Partnership Proactively identify opportunities to enhance the data reporting tool and partner with WDTech to implement enhancements timely Run a clear intake → prioritization → delivery process for Debt Ops requests; chair backlog reviews; set SLAs/ETAs and hold owners/requestors accountable Provide transparent communication to the stakeholders
  • Data-Quality Monitoring & Data Governance Work with internal stakeholders to define critical data elements and data ownership by role; operationalize data-quality rules and thresholds Work with team members to build and maintain exception dashboards and automated queues; monitor pre-submission validations for lender portals and reconcile error files Publish the exception trend reports the maintain the single source-of-truth tracker current (issues, owners, due dates, closure evidence); drive durable fixes with first-line owners Partner with Compliance to translate review findings into data rules, list corrections, and system or process changes
  • Change Support (Light UAT/Release) Coordinate with other members of the Analytics team on targeted UAT for reporting and data impacts resulted from system changes; ensure evidence is retained for audit
  • People & Process Mentor analysts on BI standards, testing discipline, and documentation; promote consistent data definitions and visualization best practices across the team Translate business asks into safe, quick data solutions; sponsor low-lift automations (Power Query/VBA/templates/AI) that remove manual touches and reduce error risk Sponsor trainings and create job aids to drive adoption of processes Perform other duties as assigned
