About The Position

The AVP, Client Consulting is responsible for leading a team that provides education, guidance, and support to members of an affinity group interested in purchasing annuities. This individual will establish and manage the operational framework for a new client consulting team, ensuring a high-quality, compliant, and service-oriented experience for members. The AVP will collaborate with sales leadership, marketing, compliance, and technology partners to develop and refine processes that facilitate annuity sales and deliver an exceptional client experience.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of the financial services industry, particularly annuities and retirement solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and manage staff, including effective delegation and coaching.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively under pressure.
  • Proven ability to develop new programs or teams within a regulated environment.
  • Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional partners in marketing, compliance, and technology.
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 8+ years of experience in financial services required.
  • FINRA Series 6 or 7 required.
  • Life insurance license required.
  • FINRA Series 24 or 26 required within 180 days of hire

Responsibilities

  • Manages staff; has overall accountability for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, compensation, training and development, discipline, and termination.
  • Supports the development and implementation of the client consulting program, including contributing to the design of service models, processes, and tools to support annuity education and sales for affinity group members.
  • Collaborates closely with sales management to ensure the team is appropriately staffed and equipped to meet service expectations and deliver a best-in-class client experience.
  • Reviews and supervises annuity transactions and sales activities for assigned team members and others participating in the affinity group initiative to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Partners with Legal and Compliance to ensure all client interactions, sales processes, and documentation adhere to applicable regulations and internal standards.
  • Works with Enterprise Technology to implement and maintain systems that support annuity order entry, client communications, and reporting.
  • Oversees day-to-day sales operations functions related to annuity applications, client onboarding, and service delivery.
  • Facilitates clear and open communication within the team and across internal partners to ensure timely and accurate processing of business.
  • Leads and coordinates staff meetings to align goals, share updates, and reinforce best practices.
  • Develops and maintains procedures and documentation to support consistent, compliant, and efficient operations.
  • Administers ad hoc research and reporting to support business insights and continuous improvement.
  • Performs other duties and/or projects as assigned.
