About The Position

The Avionics Technician is responsible for removal, replacement, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical components on aircraft. This is an experienced-level position that has no direct reports and reports to the Manager of Avionics in the Avionics Department.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Mustprovideowntools asindicatedoncompanytoollist.
  • Language (read, write, speak, and understand English)
  • Eighteen (18) months or more experience troubleshooting aircraft systems – Military or Commercial transport aircraft.
  • Minimum visual acuity of 20/40 corrected.
  • Ability to work Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 5 am to 5:30 pm each day

Nice To Haves

  • Heavy Aircraft experience
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant or FAA Airframe certificate
  • FCC License or other certified Avionics/electrical training

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance functions checks and troubleshooting ofaircraftsystems. Examples AIMS, PMAT, ATC, Pitot Static...etc.
  • Perform worktoa manner to prevent injury and damage to theaircraftwhile power on or off.
  • Perform removals and installations of avionics LRUs, wiring displacements, in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Follow all applicable specifications toaccomplisha specific task.
  • Follow Customer Aircraft maintenance documentation programs.
  • Follow wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, Illustrated Parts Catalog, ATA Codes, Service Bulletins and Maintenance Manuals.
  • Read electrical schematics and use them to troubleshoot and repairaircraftavionics systems.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Be familiar with ESD, EWIS processes and requirements
  • Follow all safety procedures and specifications with appropriate PPE.
  • Execute all required paperwork as work is being completed in connection with assigned normal duties.
  • Use and operate ground support equipment, as applicable and if qualified, in a safe manner.
  • Complete assignments with little or no rework.
  • Act as a mentor and help train less experienced avionics technicians.
  • Interface effectively with members of management, other departments, and co-workers.
  • Perform other work as instructed by the Avionics Lead or Maintenance Supervisor, if qualified.
