Requirements

  • A&P certificate preferred
  • Must be familiar with and be able to read and understand company, manufacturer, and wire diagram manuals to include schematics
  • Must possess basic avionics skills
  • Work history of being a self-starter, working well in a team environment, ability to effectively use aircraft manuals to troubleshoot and repair aircraft avionics and electrical systems
  • Possess a valid unrestricted driver’s license, and be insurable
  • Must have a minimum toolbox
  • Problem solving and organizational skills are required
  • Willing to work nights and holidays
  • Exercise good judgment in working with people in a team environment as well as in aircraft maintenance and safety
  • Able to comfortably lift 60 lbs. routinely with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Experience/Training must meet one of the following: Graduated from an accredited avionics school Military training in avionics or electronics Associate degree or higher in electronics Eighteen months experience in the avionics industry A&P certification with previous avionics experience
  • This is a Department of Transportation safety-sensitive position
  • Must hold an FCC GROL license. If an FCC GROL license is not held at the time of employment it must be obtained within six months from the hire date.
  • This position will require the selected candidate to travel outside the station for training - in addition to the completion of their new hire onboarding.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively troubleshoot all aircraft systems
  • Making critical decisions regarding aircraft safety
  • Proficiency in all documentation and paperwork, including parts paperwork
  • Performing avionics inspections, routine maintenance (e.g., FOQA downloads), and troubleshooting systems
  • Performing testing, troubleshooting, and completing repairs on components. May also be required to work on aircraft systems
  • Other duties as assigned
