About The Position

The Avionics Technician/Stockroom Clerk will be a team member on our FAA 145 service center avionics team. This role performs troubleshooting, repair, testing, and overhaul of aircraft instruments and avionics components while also ensuring the accurate, timely, and compliant flow of aircraft parts and materials. The position maintains inventory accuracy, supports production readiness through kit building, and ensures full traceability in accordance with FAA, EASA, and AS9100 standards. Working in a clean, safe, and organized environment, this role follows approved procedures, prepares accurate documentation, and supports both maintenance and logistics activities to meet customer and operational requirements.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Relevant technical education or avionics certification is preferred.
  • Prior experience as an avionics technician or in a related field is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in using specialized avionics test equipment and software.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of FAA regulations and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Physical dexterity and the ability to work in confined / dark spaces.
  • Confirmed NEGATIVE results for drug and alcohol testing in compliance with 14 CFR Part 120 and 49 CFR Part 40.

Responsibilities

  • Perform testing, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of avionics systems and components using specialized equipment and approved procedures
  • Replace components (e.g., radios, GPS units, displays) and perform software updates in accordance with manufacturer and regulatory requirements
  • Prepare accurate documentation including work orders, test results, service reports, and repair estimates
  • Maintain accurate inventory of aircraft parts, including stocking, cycle counts, and discrepancy resolution
  • Ensure proper handling, identification, traceability, and segregation of materials (serviceable, unserviceable, quarantined)
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against purchase orders and airworthiness documentation (e.g., FAA 8130-3, EASA Form 1)
  • Identify and report nonconforming materials to support quality and audit readiness
  • Build and issue production kits based on BOMs, ensuring completeness and configuration accuracy
  • Support production by managing material flow, replenishing inventory, and reconciling unused materials
  • Coordinate material requirements with production schedules, Purchasing, and suppliers to prevent shortages and resolve issues
  • Process and track inventory transactions using ERP/MRP systems
  • Prepare and manage shipping, receiving, and internal movement of parts in compliance with regulatory and export requirements
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and warehouse environment; ensure proper upkeep of tools and test equipment
  • Comply with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards (FAA, EASA, AS9100)
  • Collaborate with technicians, engineers, and cross-functional teams to resolve technical and material issues
  • Stay current with avionics technology, systems, and regulatory requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
