About The Position

In this role, you can expect to support our Mobile Service Technician (MST) team as you keep Citation aircraft mission‑ready through expert avionics installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repair at remote locations. You’ll partner closely with the MST A&P to review customer work scopes, add squawks, and ensure every interaction reflects exceptional service. You’ll also help maintain the mobile service vehicle and respond to customer inquiries to deliver a seamless, satisfaction‑focused experience.

Requirements

  • Education & Training: Equivalent to a high school diploma plus training comparable to 2 years of college or technical school
  • Avionics Experience: Over 3 years of experience in aircraft avionics systems, troubleshooting, and repair is required
  • Technical Expertise: Broad knowledge of electronics and the ability to use all related test equipment, with strong understanding of communication, navigation, auto‑pilot, flight director, and pulse‑based systems including DME, transponders, and weather radar is needed
  • Safety & Compliance: Ability to obtain an Airport Security Badge through the local airport authority (if applicable), with readiness to work in generally good conditions and occasional exposure to weather is required

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications (Preferred): Airframe and Powerplant Certification, and 1–2 years of experience on Cessna, Hawker, or Beechcraft aircraft

Responsibilities

  • Avionics Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose, test, and repair avionics systems using in‑flight analysis, customer feedback, and system evaluations. Troubleshoot wiring issues, replace defective units, and complete final functional testing in compliance with FAA procedures
  • System Installation & Modifications: Install avionics upgrades and modifications, including wiring build‑ups, equipment replacements, and aircraft integrations. Follow Textron Aviation schematics, blueprints, and service bulletins to ensure precise installations
  • Regulatory Compliance & Documentation: Verify all transmitting and receiving equipment meets FCC regulations and maintain documentation required for FCC and FAA repair station licenses. Complete and sign off customer discrepancy sheets with accuracy
  • Flight Support & System Verification: Accompany pilots during flights as needed to observe system performance, diagnose issues, and validate repairs or system alignments
  • Parts, Tools & Safety Support: Order required parts, manage core returns, and maintain safe, clean, and organized work areas. Promote safety expectations, correct unsafe acts, and ensure compliance with shop standards
  • Team Collaboration & Continuous Learning: Partner with Mechanics and Avionics Technicians to meet customer expectations and support a collaborative team environment. Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of avionics systems and hold the required Textron‑issued and state driver licenses for operating company vehicles
