Avionics, Technician III (A&P)
About The Position
Level III Avionics Technicians will perform avionics installations either independently or alongside other technicians and will lead projects from start to finish. They should have extensive knowledge of various avionics repairs and installations, and be capable of handling all tasks assigned in the Repair Station. These technicians will be required to participate in maintenance and installation planning and must be aware of the necessary parts or components for upcoming installations. They may also need to source the required equipment or supplies for their projects. Additionally, Level III Avionics Technicians must have a solid understanding of current and upcoming FAA regulations related to the avionics industry and be able to identify aircraft and components that may be impacted by those regulations.
Requirements
- A high school diploma
- The ability to pass a drug screening test
- A background check
- Avionics Technician Level II mastery
- 48 months of avionics experience or equivalent
Responsibilities
- Shown excellent diligence and adherence to FAA and RSQCM regulations and rules.
- Shown ability to address airworthiness discrepancies and ability to correct and provide solutions to discrepancies.
- Has mastered the repair station processes and can identify suspected unairworthy parts of installations.
- Capable of performing their own research for projects, including STC integration and component integration with existing or new equipment.
- Shown continued interest in further OJT and training in the Aviation Community through AEA, FAA FAST, and or any other Aviation Training.
- Has received a Chief Inspector recommendation for Inspector Authorization and return to service capabilities.
