The MV-75 Future Long Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) is the Premier Vertical Lift military program in the world. Bell's MV-75 FLRAA aircraft will become the Army's primary assault aircraft for the next 30 years, sunsetting UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters and advancing the Army's assault capabilities. The MV-75 program is utilizing the latest in cutting edge technology to expand the United States Army’s tactical advantage in future conflicts. The Bell MV-75 team seeks the top engineering talents from around the industry to design, develop, and deliver the world’s next-generation military aircraft. Work location is onsite at Bells headquarters in Fort Worth, TX, and this role will move to Bell's Flight Research Center in S. Arlington, TX later this year. Avionics Systems Engineers The Avionics Systems Engineer is responsible for developing requirements and MBSE models to support developing and integrating software components related to the control of air vehicle subsystems for the Avionics IPT on the FLRAA program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science is required. Mechanical or Other Engineering degrees may be considered with applicable Avionics development or Avionics design experience.
  • At least 2+ years’ work experience developing or designing within the Avionics Environment but hiring at all skill levels for this position.
  • Experience with engineering processes including requirements definition, requirements allocation, requirements validation, requirements verification, integration, embedded software, electronic systems, and FAA/EASA/NAA certification.
  • Experience with MBSE tools (eg EA Sparx, IBM Rhapsody, Magic Draw), CM tools (eg SVN, Clearcase, git, Dimensions)
  • Able to communicate directly with senior leadership inside and outside the company.
  • Self-motivated and able to track and report performance to cost and schedule.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with DO-297, DO-178 and/or DO-331 process assurance experience is a plus
  • Prior experience working on ARINC 653 partition-based operating system is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Develop architecture models for software components.
  • Write high level requirements for software components.
  • Perform SysML Modeling in MagicDraw/Cameo.
  • Generate system functional requirements from stakeholder expectation.
  • Validate and verify system requirements.
  • Coordinate with Internal and External teams, suppliers, and peers to generate and execute project/design plans and reviews.
  • Develop test cases to verify the system under test.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system integration/verification issues.
  • Manage and coordinate issues, problem reports, and change requests to closure.
  • Coordinate design changes and deliveries with Safety, Security, and Certification organizations.
  • Ensure timely delivery of systems requirements, integrated validation/verification activities, and issue resolution.
  • Escalate issues that need additional engineering or business leadership assistance in a timely manner.
