About The Position

The Avionics Supervisor is responsible for planning, coordinating and managing activities involving electrical harness fabrication, installation of harnesses, components and testing. Trouble shooting and repairing avionics issues.  This is an experienced-level position that supervises multiple staff and reports to the Avionics Manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of Avionics experience in a leadership position (“Lead” role or higher) -OR- 10+ yrs of Avionics Maintenance experience in lieu of prior leadership experience
  • 5+ years of Avionics maintenance or modification experience on commercial aircraft
  • Strong understanding of aircraft electrical and installation functions, procedures, and standards.
  • Knowledge of quality control standards and systems.
  • Well organized with strong planning and management skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Quality orientation.
  • Able to organize multiple projects.
  • Strong problem solving abilities.
  • Able to use all related electrical and installation equipment and applications.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak Standard English for routine business correspondence and for producing work products.
  • Must be able to adhere to all established safety policies, processes and procedures.
  • Must be able to legally work in the US without sponsorship.
  • Must be able to pass a post offer DOT drug test upon hire.

Nice To Haves

  • A&P License
  • Widebody commercial aircraft experience
  • Boeing 777 Gen Fam
  • Heavy MOD or Troubleshooting experience
  • Degree or certificate from an accredited 2-year college, university or technical school in avionics maintenance or electronics

Responsibilities

  • Assumes responsibility for the efficient, timely, and accurate completion of Avionics/Electrical Department functions
  • Supervises and directs all assigned personnel, ensuring optimal performance
  • Assists the Avionics Manager with personnel decisions in conjunction with HR including hiring, terminations, wage decisions, and promotions
  • Provides supporting documentation to Avionics Manager for performance appraisals, employee corrective actions as needed
  • Participates in developing short and long-term goals and objectives.
  • Provides suggestions and recommendations to Management.
  • Ensures that all electrical activities are timely and completed in accordance with established quality standards and procedures
  • Assumes responsibility for maintaining effective communication, coordination, and working relations with Company personnel and management
  • Coordinates closely with related departments to maintain schedules and effect necessary changes and revisions
  • Ensures that safety regulations are closely adhered to
  • Completes related documentation as required
  • Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned
