About The Position

As an Avionics Install Technician at West Star, you will be essential in performing various functions including the removal and installation of panels, components, and interiors, as well as repair work on avionics installations. You will troubleshoot and evaluate avionics systems on aircraft, perform inspections, and assist in aircraft movement within the hangar. This role requires basic computer skills to navigate electronic training and maintenance databases, and you will work both independently and as part of a team. Each day will bring new experiences and opportunities for growth in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • A High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Electronics or Avionics training is preferred.
  • 1+ years' experience working with electrical/avionics systems highly preferred.
  • Valid driver's license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not mandatory.
  • Self-motivated and able to perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to attend work every day as scheduled, including overtime and weekend assignments.
  • Reliable transportation to get to work each day.
  • Ability to perform all work in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines.
  • Follow all company and safety rules during performance of duties.
  • Maintain customer-oriented work habits.

Responsibilities

  • Removal and installation of panels, components, and interiors, as well as repair work on avionics installations.
  • Stamp, bundle, and install connectors on wiring.
  • Removal of old wiring and installation of new wire bundles in aircraft.
  • Troubleshooting and evaluation of avionics systems on the aircraft when designated.
  • Inspection and evaluation of the aircraft and components when designated.
  • Aircraft movement and assistance in hangar stack when required.
  • Maintenance and repair of shop facility, equipment, and tooling.
  • Basic computer skills to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases.
  • Work within a team process.
  • Work independently on projects when required.
  • Effectively and clearly communicate in English.
  • Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
