About The Position

HX5 is currently seeking an Avionics Engineer, Senior to join our team at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in support of the Mobility Directorate which is responsible for Transport, Tanker, and Training aircraft. Essential Duties and Responsibilities This position supports the Mobility Directorate which is responsible for Transport, Tanker, and Training aircraft. Must demonstrate knowledge in the area of controls and displays, data bus, and data recording development, test, sustainment, and operations covering airborne vehicles’ controls and displays subsystems to include performance, integrity, and FAA and DoD airworthiness/certification. Will review technical documents, determining sufficiency for demonstrating compliance with spec and airworthiness, summarizing findings, recommended changes, and communicate all results to program offices. Support technical interchange meetings with regards to updates/upgrades in area of controls and displays, data buses (including but not limited to MIL-STD-1553B and ARINC-429), and data recording equipment. Will apply knowledge in reviewing associated equipment airworthiness reports, in accordance with AFPD 62-6 USAF Airworthiness requirements Must have 5 years of DoD experience in the technical profession being performed.

Requirements

  • Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering preferred from an ABET-Accredited program and fifteen (15) years of relevant experience.
  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering preferred from an ABET-Accredited program and twelve (12) years of relevant experience.
  • Must have 5 years of DoD experience in the technical profession being performed.
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance.
  • Must be able to travel, including air travel.
