About The Position

The 2026 ATSG Summer Internship Program is a structured 10-week initiative beginning on May 26th designed to provide college students with hands-on experience across ATSG and its subsidiary companies. While some positions may be listed under specific ATSG business units, all internships are part of our company-wide program, offering a unified experience that includes professional development, mentorship, and networking opportunities. Interns will work within their assigned subsidiaries while benefiting from ATSG’s overarching structure, resources, and program events. With competitive pay and housing options available. Description: The Avionics Engineering Co-Op supports the integration of aircraft avionics modifications for Boeing 767, Boeing 757, Airbus A321, and A330 aircraft. Under the direction of an Engineer or Manager, the Co-Op assists with the creation and revision of engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation that support repair, maintenance, and modification activities. This role is designed to provide hands-on exposure to aircraft systems, standard engineering processes, and the documentation practices used in a regulated aviation environment. The Co-Op may also assist with basic data review, document organization, and process improvement tasks as needed to support active projects.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline (or enrolled in an Associate’s program with relevant technical focus)
  • Fundamental understanding of electrical and avionics concepts (such as wiring, connectors, signals, grounding, and system interfaces)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
  • Familiarity with drafting tools such as AutoCAD or similar diagramming/drafting software
  • Strong written communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow document control practices
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and accept coaching and feedback

Nice To Haves

  • Academic or project experience creating or updating wiring diagrams, schematics, or technical drawings
  • Familiarity with aircraft documentation such as maintenance manuals, wiring manuals, service bulletins, or engineering orders
  • Interest in aviation regulatory environments and basic awareness of FAA compliance concepts (such as airworthiness and approved data)
  • Prior internship, lab, or hands-on technical experience (electronics, wiring, troubleshooting, fabrication, etc.)
  • Experience with programming or automation tools such as Python or VBA (for data cleanup, reporting, or repeatable engineering tasks)
  • Interest or experience with prototyping or 3D printing

Responsibilities
