GENERAL DESCRIPTION Supervise Battery, ATE and Calibration Work Centers maintenance support per maintenance support requirements, and perform battery maintenance (handling, tracking, testing, repairing, and storing). Enters maintenance documentation in NALCOMIS (VIDSMAFs) DUTIES Must have demonstrated maintenance knowledge, experience, and working level skills/ability in: The AVWS shall meet the qualifications of an Electronics Technician Maintenance II (Battery Shop). The AVWS shall have a minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent. The AVWS shall have a demonstrated maintenance knowledge, experience, and working level skills/ability in: Battery (lead acid, nickel cadmium, and lithium) storage, tracking, maintenance, testing repair, and handling All applications of NAVAIR 17-15BAD-1 Aircraft and Naval and Aircraft Support Equipment Storage Batteries. The AVWS shall be a graduate from a two (2) year Electronics Technician resident course at an accredited institute, or have completed significant factory or military formal electronics training (i.e., 4 (four) years military aircraft electronics maintenance with emphasis in avionics and battery maintenance/repair). The AVWS shall have a minimum of 4 (four) years' experience in the last ten (10) years in Navy/USMC aviation electronics maintenance supervision and Aviation Quality Assurance Collateral Duty Inspector to the level of effort and complexity of requirements in this SOW. This experience shall be exclusive of formalized training time. Examples of acceptable experience: Navy Aviation Electronics Technician (AT) or Aviation Electricians Mate (AE) senior enlisted i.e., E-7, E-8 or E-9) or USMC equivalent and NEC-8800 Aviation Maintenance/ Production Chief (E-7, E-8 or E-9).
