About The Position

The Electronic Technician IV is responsible for support of highly sensitive HQ USAF operational plans and safe air transportation for Cabinet Members, senior military leaders, and visiting foreign dignitaries. This role requires applying advanced technical knowledge to solve unusually complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturers’ manuals or similar documents. Examples of such problems include determining the location and density of circuitry, evaluating electromagnetic radiation, isolating malfunctions, and incorporating engineering changes. The work typically requires a detailed understanding of the interrelationships of circuits and involves exercising independent judgment in performing tasks such as circuit analysis, calculating wave forms, and tracing relationships in signal flow. The technician will use complex test instruments such as high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and complex computer control equipment. Responsibilities also include maintaining Aircraft Electronic systems, assisting assigned personnel, performing research, requisitioning aircraft parts, and ensuring that all maintenance data is correctly entered into forms and MIS. The technician must also provide guidance and instruction to all employees assigned concerning technical orders, checklists, and hazardous materials. The position may require working day shift, second shift, night shift, and/or weekend shift as required.
