About The Position

Amentum is in seeking a qualified Avionics/Electronic Bench Technician II to support our operations at Naval Air Station in New Orleans, LA. The Avionics/Electronic Bench Technician II diagnoses malfunctions and repairs Avionic Test Equipment, observes and trains under higher grade workers on diagnosis and repair on less complex repair/maintenance problems, solves repair problems by studying drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical publications; uses automated maintenance data systems to monitor maintenance trends, analyze equipment requirements, maintain equipment records, document maintenance actions, analyzes, diagnosis and repairs Avionic Test Equipment to component level using conventional and digital multi-meters, voltmeters, ohmmeters, frequency counters, oscilloscopes, circuit card testers, transistor testers, and hand tools. This technician also does the following: disassembles and assembles malfunctioning test equipment accessories and components, removes, repairs, cleans, treats for corrosion, to include sandblast and paint. This technician performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on Avionic Test Equipment, inspects, tests, and operates Test Equipment to determine equipment serviceability and proper operation, diagnoses mechanical and electronic circuitry malfunctions using visual and auditory senses, test equipment, and technical publications. This technician stencils and marks Avionic Test Equipment in accordance with technical publications, stores, handles, labels, uses, and disposes of hazardous materials and waste in accordance with all state, local, and federal environmental standards and regulations. This technician practices good housekeeping, tool control, Foreign Object Damage prevention, and safety at all times. Performs routing and non-complex assignments involving responsibility for planning and conducting a complete project of relatively limited scope or a portion of a larger and more diverse project. Selects and adapts plans, techniques, designs, or layouts. Reviews, analyzes and evaluates test results and prepares reports on findings and recommendations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years' aviation experience in electronics maintenance/repair, or a military equivalent of three (3) years of hands-on experience.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Graduate from a two (2) year Electronics Technician resident course at an accredited institute.
  • Must have an International Society of Certified Electronics Technicians (ISCET) certification.
  • Able to read and understand aviation electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, to include component identification and function.
  • Must be able to obtain a Security Clearance for issuance of a Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Must be able to speak, read and understand English.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
