About The Position

You will be the F-35 Avionics/Electrical Technician for the F-35 Avionics/Electrical Team which is responsible for maintaining and upgrading the aircraft’s electrical and avionics systems. This position is located at Luke AFB, AZ. As the F-35 Avionics/Electrical Technician you will be responsible for delivering precision service, repair, and overhaul of the F‑35’s electrical architecture while supporting heavy‑maintenance and modification programs.

Requirements

  • MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
  • The selected candidate must possess an interim clearance to start and have the ability to obtain a Final Secret Clearance.
  • Candidate must be willing and able to travel as this position requires Conus and Oconus travel.
  • Candidate must be experienced with understanding technical requirements on fighter type aircraft.
  • Candidate must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, structure repair manuals, understanding symbols, flags, and general notes
  • Identify aircraft locations by station, butt-line, and waterline as shown on engineering documentation and technical orders.
  • Must have been previously awarded a 5 or 7 Skill level USAF AFSC, Navy NEC, or Marine MOS discipline rating or an equivalent Airframe and Power Plant, FAA certificate.
  • Candidate must have experience with bonding of aircraft parts, assemblies and materials on complete and incomplete aircraft, where methods and operational sequences are not established.
  • Must have experience with Tool Control, FOD, Supply, HAZMAT, Training, Quality, and Security programs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience Aircraft wire repair and routing.
  • Depot/heavy maintenance experience
  • Experience with fighter aircraft.
  • 7 level or civilian equivalent in Avionics/Aircraft Electrician

Responsibilities

  • Repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft electrical systems, incorporating engineering changes and ensuring airworthiness.
  • Analyze circuit interrelationships, trace signal flow, and operate high‑frequency test instruments such as pulse generators and distortion analyzers.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, and technical orders to locate aircraft stations, butt‑lines, and waterlines.
  • Execute bonding and wiring tasks in confined or overhead spaces, adhering to safety and FOD‑free standards.
  • Support maintenance logistics, travel to CONUS and OCONUS sites, and provide technical guidance to peers.
