The Avionics/Electrical Tech IV position at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation involves providing leadership, technical expertise, and guidance while performing various operational and functional tests and repairs of avionics and electronic aircraft equipment and systems. The position includes training personnel, overseeing compliance with engineering changes, and ensuring all work is properly documented.

  • Demonstrates superior technical skills and expertise in avionics and aircraft systems operational testing and troubleshooting.
  • Provides direct training to personnel to support company cross-training goals.
  • Teaches the installation and functional testing of electrical/avionics components and systems per engineering specifications.
  • Ensures quality and efficiency of all installations and troubleshoots malfunctioning systems.
  • Demonstrates effective repair techniques including splicing, soldering, and pinning of wiring.
  • Oversees performance and compliance with engineering changes and modifications.
  • Sets up and operates necessary test equipment.
  • Conducts functional and operational tests to evaluate performance and reliability.
  • Maintains daily logs and documentation of work performed.
  • Pre-inspects work of others prior to inspection to reduce rework and inspection time.
  • Enforces company FOD program, tool control program, and safety regulations.
  • Coordinates with other disciplines concerning projects.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Six (6) years experience in an avionics/electrical career field, or two (2) years of accredited schooling in aviation electronics and four (4) years related experience.
  • A & P license, FCC license, or NCATT certification preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and schematic diagrams.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Preferred proficiency in the operation and troubleshooting of other aircraft systems such as hydraulics, landing gear, flight controls, environmental controls, or structural installations and repairs.
  • APU run qualification and engine run qualification preferred.
