The Avionics/Electrical Tech 4 position at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation involves providing leadership, technical expertise, and guidance while performing various operational and functional tests and repairs of avionics and electronic aircraft equipment and systems. The role ensures a defect-free aircraft by demonstrating superior technical skills in testing, troubleshooting, and repairing system discrepancies. The technician will also implement process changes to reduce costs and meet schedules without compromising safety or quality. This position requires adherence to daily work plans to maintain schedule requirements and may involve filling in for the team leader.

  • Demonstrates superior technical skills and expertise in avionics and aircraft systems operational testing and troubleshooting.
  • Provides direct training to personnel to support company cross-training goals.
  • Teaches the installation and functional testing of electrical/avionics components and systems per engineering specifications.
  • Ensures quality and efficiency of all installations and troubleshoots malfunctioning systems.
  • Demonstrates effective repair techniques including splicing, soldering, and pinning of wiring.
  • Oversees performance and compliance with engineering changes and modifications.
  • Sets up and operates necessary test equipment and conducts functional and operational tests.
  • Maintains daily logs and documentation of all work performed on the aircraft.
  • Pre-inspects work of others prior to inspection to reduce rework and inspection time.
  • Enforces company programs and safety regulations.
  • Coordinates with other disciplines concerning projects.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Six (6) years experience in an avionics/electrical career field, or two (2) years of accredited schooling in aviation electronics and four (4) years related experience.
  • A & P license, FCC license, or NCATT certification preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and schematic diagrams.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Previous experience with corporate or Gulfstream aircraft systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of engineering drawings and wiring harnesses.
  • Preferred proficiency in the operation and troubleshooting of other aircraft systems such as hydraulics, landing gear, flight controls, environmental controls, or structural installations and repairs.
  • APU run qualification and engine run qualification preferred.
