The Avionics/Electrical Tech 4 position at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation involves providing leadership, technical expertise, and guidance while performing various operational and functional tests and repairs of avionics and electronic aircraft equipment and systems. The role ensures a defect-free aircraft by demonstrating superior technical skills in testing, troubleshooting, and repairing system discrepancies. The technician will also be responsible for defining and implementing process changes to reduce costs and meet schedules without compromising safety or quality. The position requires the ability to fill in for the team leader and enforce company goals of safety and quality while adhering to daily work plans.

  • Demonstrates superior technical skills and expertise in avionics and aircraft systems operational testing and troubleshooting.
  • Provides direct training to personnel to support company cross-training goals.
  • Teaches the installation and functional testing of electrical/avionics components and systems per engineering specifications.
  • Ensures quality and efficiency of all installations and troubleshoots malfunctioning systems.
  • Oversees the performance and compliance with engineering changes and modifications.
  • Conducts functional and operational tests to evaluate performance and reliability.
  • Maintains daily logs and documentation of work performed.
  • Pre-inspects work of others prior to inspection to reduce rework and inspection time.
  • Enforces company programs such as FOD, tool control, and safety regulations.
  • Coordinates with other disciplines concerning projects.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Six (6) years experience in an avionics/electrical career field, or two (2) years of accredited schooling in aviation electronics and four (4) years related experience.
  • A & P license, FCC license, or NCATT certification preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and schematic diagrams.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Previous experience with corporate or Gulfstream aircraft systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of engineering drawings and wiring harnesses.
  • Preferred proficiency in the operation and troubleshooting of other aircraft systems such as hydraulics, landing gear, flight controls, and environmental controls.
  • APU run qualification and engine run qualification preferred.
