About The Position

As an Avionics & Electrical Engineering Intern at United Launch Alliance you'll gain hands-on experience and will have the opportunity to perform analysis on existing flight hardware, assist in the design and development of future hardware, perform analysis for both completed and future launches, test, systems engineering, mission integration, quality assurance, system safety, launch operations and production operations. Interns may perform and/or participate in additional activities/events which help them build a strong network within the ULA community and with fellow interns.

Requirements

  • Completed Sophomore year of college or university by the time of the summer internship assignment.
  • Minimum college GPA of 2.90 on a 4.00 scale at the time of application.
  • Valid driver’s license and motorized vehicle transportation if assigned an internship in Alabama, California, Florida, or Pueblo, Colorado.
  • Actively pursuing a degree in a STEM field from an accredited college or university.
  • Plans to be enrolled in classes during Fall Semester 2026.
  • Ability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks during the summer of 2026.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint).
  • Effective presentation, written communication, and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis on existing flight hardware.
  • Assist in the design and development of future hardware.
  • Perform analysis for both completed and future launches.
  • Conduct testing, systems engineering, mission integration, quality assurance, system safety, launch operations and production operations.
  • Perform data analysis and analysis methodology improvement projects.
  • Engage in software improvement projects and trade studies.
  • Create or modify tool designs.
  • Process cause and corrective actions for non-conformances.
  • Maintain production work instructions and manage suppliers.
  • Conduct component or integrated systems tests.
  • Support one or more experienced engineers in performance of assignments.
  • Spend time shadowing actual operations.
  • Experience the day-to-day workings of engineering.
