About The Position

In this role, you will work in a team environment to perform inspections, troubleshoot, and repair of aircraft and MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul) of engines and all associated systems using, safe, cost-effective maintenance procedures. In addition, you will assist in aircraft, pylon and test engine modifications on Boeing 747-400 flying test bed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License
  • Minimum 4 years of related experience
  • US Citizenship is required due to the following requirement: Ability to obtain and retain a U.S. DoD security clearance and Special Program access clearance. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of wiring diagrams, fault isolation manual and ability to operate air data test equipment.
  • Strong Avionics background with experience on widebody Boeing, Airbus or Douglas Aircraft.
  • Two-year technical degree

  • Knowledgeable of FAR145 Repair Station Procedures
  • Strong communication and people skills
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in a team environment as well as in aircraft maintenance and safety

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance & modifications on Boeing 747- 400 flying test bed
  • Jet engine module removal & installation, including performing various machining and repair operations, using hand tools, specialized tools, equipment and fixtures
  • Perform sheet metal repair
  • Complete all documentation in a neat and proficient manner according to company policies and procedures, as well as per FAR 145 requirements
  • Install, inspect, test, adjust, or repair test engine and pylon
  • Lay out installation of assemblies / systems in aircraft, according to blueprints and wiring diagrams
  • Be able to understand and use maintenance manuals, illustrated parts catalogs, component overhaul manuals, engine manuals, service bulletins and airworthiness directives.
  • Troubleshoot and perform aircraft system tests.
  • Perform the highest quality of work consistently.
  • Ability to fill out, parts tags, logbook, engineering log, component change log, routine and non-routine task cards and part requisitions correctly and with attention to detail.
  • Knowledgeable in environmental safety policies and procedures.
  • Operate cherry pickers, man lifts, and forklifts.
  • Perform any other task as assigned by the Flightline Manager or Lead Technician
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible and off-shift hours (including 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift, nights, weekends, and holidays) when business needs dictate
  • Ability and willingness to travel to and support operations at offsite locations when business needs dictate.
  • Ability and willingness to fly aboard an experimental aircraft including participation in development flight tests.
  • Ability to meet all requirements of Zero Tolerance DOT/FAA Drug and Alcohol Testing Program. (14 CFR Part 120 and 49 CFR Part 40).
  • Ability and willingness to work in an environment that is subject to changing climate conditions and moderate noise levels
  • Capability and willingness of lifting a minimum of 50 pounds (with or without assistance)
  • Ability and willingness to travel to remote locations
  • Able to work at heights up to 80 feet
