About The Position

Overview Job Summary Responsible to perform continuity and power and ground checks for post installation wiring accuracy. Perform configurations and calibration of avionics and medical equipment. Perform post installation system operational checks. Be able to perform complex troubleshooting and repair discrepancies. Operate multiple types of avionics test equipment. Maintain work orders and direct personnel for job assignments. Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following: • Define and coordinate department requirements based on workload and schedules • Coordinate and prioritize workflow based on schedule commitments • Review drawings for clarity and manufacturing interpretation • Review manpower requirements • Initiate activities associated with personnel status changes • Ensure that direct reports are adequately trained and capable of performing their duties • Ensure and maintain a safe work environment • Participate in weekly program status meetings • Provide hours and materials estimates for proposals • Coordinate and communicate with other manufacturing departments, Engineering, and Production Control • Other Duties as assigned. Education & Experience • Two year certificate from college or technical school; and/or four or more year’s related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Four (4) years of relevant industry experience. • Demonstrated General Aviation avionics experience with installation, troubleshooting, and FAA certification. • Supervisory or lead experience preferred. • Proficient in avionics test equipment. • Proficient with FAR 91.411 and 91.413. • Proficient in avionics systems to include but not limited to Comm, Nav, Audio, Marker Beacon, Autopilot, Garmin 430, 530, G1000, G500, GTN 650/750, Satellite Phone and Tracking, TCAS, and lighting systems. Skills • Ability to read and work from blue prints and schematics. • Ability to read, understand written regulatory and technical and exchange the same. • Ability to apply creativity and problem solving skills in troubleshooting work. • Ability to work as team member and leader under pressure and meet deadlines Computer Skills • Proficient with Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook Certificates, Licenses, Registrations • FCC license preferred • FAA A&P or meet requirements to obtain a FAA repairman certificated preferred This position is subject to drug and/or alcohol testing per the DOT/FAA requirements (pre-employment, random, reasonable cause/suspicion, post-accident). Requirements
