About The Position

Job Summary Responsible to fabricate, assemble, install and terminate avionics and medical systems wiring harnesses for aircraft completions. Perform continuity and power and ground checks for post installation wiring accuracy. Perform configurations and calibration of avionics and medical equipment. Perform post installation system operational checks. Be able to perform complex troubleshooting and repair discrepancies. Operate multiple types of avionics test equipment.Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following: • Fabricate avionics, electrical, and medical wiring systems to engineering schematic specifications• Check drawings, job cards and parts kits for accuracy and applicability for assigned tasks and advises lead and/or supervisor of deficiencies • Review drawings for clarity and manufacturing interpretation• Troubleshoot, repair, and modify aircraft electrical, avionics, and medical systems per manufacturer’s instructions, engineering schematics and accepted industry practices• Record work progress, certifications, completion and testing on various production documents per ISO/AS standards and established company policies• Assist with planning and documenting in-flight testing, certification, and troubleshooting procedures• Ensure and maintain a safe work environment• Participate in weekly program status meetings• Provide hours and materials estimates for proposals• Coordinate and communicate with other manufacturing departments, Engineering, and Production Control• Other Duties as assigned.Additional Job Requirements• Regular scheduled attendance• Indicate the percentage of time spent traveling: 5%Subject to applicable laws and Air Method’s policies, regular attendance is an essential function of the position. Requirements

  • Two year certificate from college or technical school; and two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two to three years of relevant industry experience.
  • Knowledge in avionics test equipment.
  • Knowledge with FAR 91.411 and 91.413.
  • Demonstrated General Aviation avionics experience with installation, troubleshooting, and FAA certification.
  • Avionics systems knowledge to include but not limited to Comm, Nav, Audio, Marker Beacon, Autopilot, Garmin 430, 530, G1000, G500, GTN 650/750, Satellite Phone and Tracking, TCAS, and lighting systems.
  • Ability to read and work from blue prints and schematics.
  • Ability to read, understand written regulatory and technical and exchange the same.
  • Ability to apply creativity and problem solving skills in troubleshooting work.
  • Ability to work as team member and leader under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook

Nice To Haves

  • FCC license preferred
  • FAA A&P or meet requirements to obtain a FAA repairman certificated preferred
