About The Position

Lead Captains will play a crucial role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the program, including the management of other Captains, coordinating student activities, and ensuring the smooth deployment of participants to various business units. Additionally, the Lead Captains will be responsible for compiling data, conducting briefings, and submitting daily reports to ATL Workforce and the Department of Aviation. Lead Captains' will also collaborate with ATL Workforce staff to identify suitable roles within each division and create clear timelines and deliverables for each participant. Additionally, the Lead Captains will provide comprehensive support and guidance to participating high school students, foster effective supervision, and coordinate a positive overall experience for the youth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Two-three years prior experience (Education, Summer Camp Counseling is preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining key stakeholder relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish productive, innovative work environments.
  • Working knowledge of writing curriculum and developing lesson plans for high school students.
  • Knowledge and experience of virtual Platforms (Microsoft Teams and Zoom).

Nice To Haves

  • The ability to track and manage data reporting on a daily basis.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and oversee the captains’ performance.
  • Facilitate daily briefings with the captains as a group.
  • Conduct orientation sessions for the captains.
  • Receive and compile data from individual Captains, including attendance, weekly informal observation forms, incident reports, onboarding/exit forms and collection of badges for their assigned groups.
  • Conduct one-on-one meetings with Captains to provide support and guidance twice a week.
  • Submit daily summary reports to ATL Workforce.
  • Immediately report any incidents or emergencies to ATL Workforce staff.
  • Report attendance to Department of Aviation (DOA) assigned staff.
  • Support Captains in scheduling student activities, obtaining necessary resources, and resolving conflicts.
