About The Position
The incumbent serves as an operations technical expert responsible for developing policies, standards, programs and procedures for the National Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Safety Team (FAASTeam) to include the FAASTeam National Performance Plan. The position involves collaboration with FAASTeam personnel, lines of business, and external aviation organizations to address safety issues and seek innovative mitigation strategies. The FAA provides aviation education and guidance to all segments of the aviation community, targeting the general aviation (GA) community and emphasizing human factors in the relationship with the flying public. The incumbent will independently develop and manage aviation safety procedures, support national initiatives, and establish collaborative relationships with external aviation organizations.
