About The Position

The Aviation Solutions Division provides direct project support for programs and platforms at Patuxent River Air Base and Webster Field Base in Southern Maryland. System aircraft design and development tasking drives projects for equipment removal and replacement, complex cable harness fabrication, aircraft installation efforts, and lab testing development integration. The Division Program Manager is currently searching for qualified and experienced candidates to join the Aviation Solution team to expand capabilities and provide operational excellence to the both the customer and war fighter. The program is currently searching for a qualified Avionic Technician IV to join the operational team. The selected candidate modifies, fabricates and builds equipment and subassemblies working from layout diagrams, schematics, wire boards, and verbal instructions. The technician will install, inspect, test, adjust, or repair avionics equipment, such as radar, radio, navigation, and control systems in aircraft. The technician will assist in dismantling, repairing, overhauling or replacing parts and assemblies such as engines, plumbing systems, hydraulic systems, and aircraft structural sections. Integration efforts will be performed within full-scale production manufacturing operations and include tasks such as production fabrication for electronic, mechanical, electromechanical assemblies. Additional tasking capabilities will include quality assurance CDI training and experience and pin-out verification testing, having the ability to follow established methods and procedures, and effective time management for production scheduling and control. The technician must be proficient with coordinating, planning, and expediting the flow of material, parts, and assemblies within a warehouse and production facility environment. Must pass all job-specific or specialized certification programs required for core tasks or specialized assignments such as, forklift certification, solder certification, connector and back shell termination compliance, understanding the 505 Aircraft Integration manual guidance, fall protection, hazmat training, and tool control processes. The qualified candidate will assist with integration efforts both local and during travel to support harness and equipment removal and replacement for final terminations and verification testing. Avionic Technician IV level operations resources should be self-reliable and follow supervision guidance during installation and integration tasking and help lead fabrication efforts with little direction. The hourly rate for this position is set by the Dept of Labor and is not negotiable. Current rate is $35.64/hr. This position is located in the scenic and historic Southern Maryland area of St. Mary's County, near to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station. There is no monetary relocation assistance budgeted for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to St. Mary's County, Maryland or surrounding areas.

Requirements

  • High School diploma and at least 8 years of related experience
  • Experience with cable fabrication, rack integration, electrical diagnostics and laboratory facility management
  • Must pass all job-specific or specialized certification programs required for core tasks or specialized assignments such as, forklift certification, solder certification, connector and back shell termination compliance, understanding the 505 Aircraft Integration manual guidance, fall protection, hazmat training, and tool control processes.
  • Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to St. Mary's County, Maryland or surrounding areas.
