About The Position

The Aviation Maintenance Technician at American Airlines is responsible for ensuring the safety and airworthiness of aircraft through various technical and general maintenance functions. Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to read, write, and fluently speak English.
• Airframe and Power Plant License required.
• Willingness to work outdoors in any weather conditions.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Must fulfill FAA criminal background checks for airport access.
• Must be able to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges.
• Subject to DOT drug and alcohol testing.

• Experience in aviation maintenance or related field.
• Knowledge of FAA regulations and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Service aircraft, including mechanical work such as dismantling, overhauling, repairing, and testing aircraft components.
• Conduct scheduled maintenance inspections to ensure airworthiness.
• Certify the quality of own workmanship in accordance with maintenance manuals.
• Connect and remove ground power and ground start units.
• Push out and tow aircraft, performing guideman functions.
• Sign mechanical flight releases and airworthiness releases.
• Maintain knowledge of and use maintenance manuals and supply catalogs.
• Complete necessary forms, records, and reports accurately.
• Perform Foreign Object Debris (FOD) walks and clean work areas.
• Request parts as needed.
