About The Position

At this location you will be working on EC130's and on occasions an EC145. Performs maintenance, repairs, inspections, and alterations of Company operated aircraft and articles as assigned with an objective to attain full FAA A&P certification and/or qualifying experience to move to a Part 135 field base maintenance position in two years. This is a 12–24 month paid apprenticeship program designed to prepare participants for movement from the apprenticeship into an Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT 135) role with Air Methods. As this is a revolving apprenticeship program, movement into the AMT 135 role may occur at a different Air Methods base once the program is complete. Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to three years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Completion of two years of trade of vocational school (or equivalent work experience) preferred or currently enrolled and tracking to receive full A&P certification within 12 months from a Part 147 school.
  • Must be self-motivated and have the ability to process complex systems and logically think through problems
  • Basic working knowledge of FARs Parts 39, 43, 65, 91 & 135
  • Proficiency in the use of hand tools applicable to perform aircraft inspections, repairs and alterations
  • Knowledge of basic aircraft maintenance and basic understanding of composite structures and repairs
  • Ability to be a team player with a professional attitude
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented and ability to prioritize
  • Intermediate with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Airframe and power plant License in good standing or;
  • Enrolled and tracking to receive full A&P certification within 12 months from a Part 147 school.
  • This position is subject to drug and/or alcohol testing per the DOT/FAA requirements (pre-employment, random, reasonable cause/suspicion, post-accident).

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the repair, modification, and inspection of engines, components, and airframes under the direction of a Licensed Airframe & Power plant Mechanic (A&P) (Mechanics Certificate)
  • Assist in the testing of repaired aircraft systems for proper performance
  • Assist in the cleaning, maintenance and lubricating and other routine maintenance of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and maintenance tooling under the direction of a Licensed A&P (Mechanics Certificate)
  • Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, manufacture's recommendations, and Air Methods’ standards
  • Prepares and maintains documentation related to work activities in accordance with regulations and Company policies
  • Enters detailed maintenance records to paperwork orders and AMMIS
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Provide timely on call availability during nights, weekends, and holidays if necessary
  • Regular scheduled attendance
  • Indicate the percentage of time spent traveling: 25 – 50%
  • Periodic travel in support of Part 135 operations and company objectives will be expected.
  • Subject to applicable laws and Air Method’s policies, regular attendance is an essential function of the position.
  • All employees must follow Air Methods’ employment practices and policies.
  • Must live within an hour of the base.
