About The Position

The Aviation Maintenance Domestic Apprentice position is a unique opportunity to join the future global Samaritan's Purse team through the Samaritan's Purse Apprenticeship Program. This program is designed to prepare and train the next generation of the Samaritan's Purse workforce. The apprentice will support the Mission Aviation Services team in Greensboro, NC, and will receive the requisite training and experience needed to begin a career with Samaritan's Purse. The apprenticeship lasts for 2 years and includes salary and benefits, although a job is not guaranteed at the end of the contract. The expectation is that the apprentice will gain the necessary competencies to advance in their career.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
  • A & P Certificate.
  • Twelve credit hours of college-level Biblical studies strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication (written and verbal), and networking skills.
  • Analytical, strategic thinking, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to develop and carry out plans and solve problems independently.

Responsibilities

  • Assists to maintain Samaritan's Purse aircraft in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), using industry best practices and adhering to ministry standards.
  • Assists to perform preflight and post flight inspections.
  • Travels with the aircraft as needed as a crewmember and performs duties associated with the mission.
  • Performs line service duties including refueling.
  • Cleans interior and exterior of aircraft.
  • Assists in maintaining hangar facilities to meet the highest possible standards of safety and appearance.
  • Assists with aircraft ground movement, and secures company aircraft as directed.
  • Assists with loading and unloading of the aircraft at home base and at enroute destinations.
  • Operates aircraft ground and loading equipment as needed.
  • Maintains a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.
  • Follows policies and procedures of Samaritan's Purse as set forth in the Policy Manual.
  • Attends daily morning devotions and participates in prayer support for the ministry, donors and volunteers.
  • Maintains a strong Christian witness to colleagues, vendors, charitable beneficiaries, and the general public.
