About The Position

The BAE Systems Aviation Solutions Division provides direct project support for programs and platforms at Patuxent River Air Base and Webster Base in Southern Maryland. System aircraft design and development tasking drives projects for equipment removal and replacement, complex cable harness fabrication, aircraft installation efforts, and lab testing development integration. The Division Program Manager is currently searching for qualified and experienced candidates to join the Aviation Solution team to expand capabilities and provide operational excellence to both the customer and war fighter. The Aviation Field Service Engineer will assist with managing aircraft modifications and operational verification testing efforts in support of complex wire harness removal and installation tasking for Navy platforms. Will serve as the liaison between project management and customer program leads to development planning, installation team oversight, working closely with quality control, assisting engineering design teams and line management as the program develops and fabricates complex aircraft harness and equipment wiring integration. Additional duties to include: Works closely with project managers and material procurement leads to develop production build schedules, interfacing with government leadership on a regular basis to ensure parts/assemblies are delivered on or ahead of schedule. Works with the Government Program Leads teams to generate technical data and provide operational flow documentation for compliance. Design and develop aircraft operational testing plans and standard operating procedures for Pre & Post aircraft modifications verification efforts. Prepares and implements project execution plans and identifies technical, manufacturing, and business resources needed for the program success. Assesses issues and leads the team to develop resolutions that meet productivity, affordability, quality and customer satisfaction goals and objectives. Provides guidance to identify the need for technical back up for decision making to the project team. Ensure program forecasts are updated accordingly and that all installation resources are scheduled as needed to execute modification requirements. Identifies and mitigates technical and schedule risks to program execution. This position is located at the Government customer facility that serves Tinker Air Force Base Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Aircraft platform modification efforts will work directly with project teams local to Oklahoma City and in Southern Maryland in the St. Mary's County Technology Corridor adjacent to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station. There is no monetary relocation assistance budgeted for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in, or state willingness to relocate to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma or surrounding areas.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and 10 years of related experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
