We have an opportunity in Orlando, FL. Our Aviation Engineering discipline is a specialized field of civil engineering and transportation planning related to the development and maintenance of airport facilities. Staff in the aviation discipline possess a large array of skill sets, including the planning of airfield features; pavement design; site grading and drainage and the associated modeling; and geometric layout of the edge lighting, pavement marking and navigational aids that assist pilots navigating an airport. General Assignments: Interns will perform routine aviation engineering tasks using standard procedures under supervision of Registered Professional Engineers and may assist Hanson engineers, designers, and technicians in disciplines related to their field of study. Interns will typically support one or more experienced professional staff in performance of assignments, spend time shadowing actual operations, and have unique assignments that support larger projects as well as experience the day-to-day workings of aviation engineering . Interns may perform and/or participate in additional activities/events which help them build a strong network within the Hanson community and with fellow interns. Internships may require travel to suppliers, customers, or other Hanson locations.
