About The Position

The Aviation Business Development Manager owns the development, expansion, and long-term success of GEM, Taylor-Dunn, Fusion, and Tiger products across the aviation ecosystem, including Ground Handlers, Fixed Based Operators, Passenger and Cargo Airlines, Airport Services, and Airports . Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, this individual is responsible for identifying new opportunities, creating demand, forging deep end-user relationships, and driving adoption of Waev vehicles throughout aviation operations. This role will be essential in building market presence, generating large-scale fleet opportunities, and promoting Waev as the preferred EV provider for ground support and airport mobility applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Aviation Management, Logistics, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of relevant B2B sales experience, ideally within aviation, GSE, airport equipment, EVs, transportation, or industrial mobility.
  • Demonstrated success in building new markets or developing strategic accounts.
  • Strong understanding of large-scale operational environments and fleet-based customers.
  • Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills-verbal, written, and listening.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and operate with a bias for action.
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to balance customer needs with business objectives.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience engaging directly with airlines, airports, FBOs, or ground handling organizations.
  • Knowledge of ground support equipment (GSE) or aviation operational workflows.
  • Strong presentation and public-speaking skills for conferences or group demos.
  • Experience with complex procurement processes or multi-site customer deployments.
  • Desire to take on additional responsibility as the aviation vertical grows.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute aviation-specific business development plans that capture significant growth potential within assigned accounts and regions.
  • Become the subject matter expert on aviation operations-ground handling workflows, airport mobility, cargo processes, and FBO service requirements.
  • Conduct discovery meetings to understand customer applications, operational constraints, facility layouts, charging requirements, and fleet objectives.
  • Personally support strategic end-user accounts to ensure Waev is represented with the highest standards of professionalism and technical expertise.
  • Use industry research, prospecting tools, and aviation networks to identify new business opportunities and expand Waev's presence.
  • Lead product demonstrations, vehicle evaluations, and on-site assessments for aviation stakeholders.
  • Drive brand visibility at aviation-focused trade shows, conferences, airport council events, and demonstrations.
  • Work cross-functionally with Waev's internal teams-including product, engineering, operations, and marketing-to represent the voice of the customer and influence product direction.
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with senior leaders, operations managers, fleet managers, and procurement personnel within key customer targets.
  • Develop long-term pipeline opportunities by mapping customer infrastructure, future fleet plans, and growth pathways.
  • Monitor and influence aviation industry regulations, sustainability initiatives, and electrification targets to position Waev solutions effectively.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on key account activity, competitive landscape, and market trends.
  • Prepare customer proposals, ROI assessments, operational recommendations, and fleet transition plans.
