About The Position

VCA Wakefield Animal Hospital is seeking an exotics veterinarian to lend a hand while one of our doctors is on leave. Comfort with birds and reptiles is required. An interest in cat and dogs is a plus but not a requirement. VCA Wakefield is located minutes from Boston's vibrant culture and a short drive from New England's beautiful mountains, rivers, lakes, and beaches. Our team's quality of life is the key to our success, and we work hard to promote a supportive and fun culture. We moved into our new facility in 2020, and it was designed with the comfort of our patients in mind: Dogs are separated from other species in our lobbies, exam rooms, treatment areas, and holding areas. Additionally, iCalm music is played throughout. Most of our 11 doctors, 13 CVTs, 25 assistants, and 20 client service representatives are Fear Free™ Certified Professionals, and we are committed to making veterinary visits a great experience for our patients and their people. We are also committed to hands-free radiology (currently at 90%). We’ve been AHAA-accredited for more than 40 years.

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university.
• Licensure in good standing to practice in Massachusetts or the ability to obtain.
• Experience with birds, reptiles, and small mammals.
