Requirements

  • Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) with at least 2 years of experience working as a veterinary technician.
  • Prior experience with exotics/wildlife is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and make informed decisions in fast-paced situations.
  • Genuine passion for animal care and a commitment to patient well-being.
  • Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required; fluency in multiple languages is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate and gold standard of care to all GCVS patients.
  • Monitor and treat patients and keep detailed records during hospitalization.
  • Communicate effectively with doctors, CPC's, management, and peers.
  • Lead staff, develop protocols, manage tasks, and ensure communication with A&E.
  • Perform clerical tasks: typing, EMR use, phone operations, and estimate creation.
  • Monitor patient vitals, intake/output, and report abnormalities.
  • Administer medications, manage fluids/oxygen, perform lab tests, and wound care.
  • Place and maintain IV, urinary, and pedal catheters.
  • Collect blood, urine, feces, tissue, and culture samples.
  • Assist with exotic patient triage, CPR, and EKG interpretation.
  • Apply knowledge of first aid, pharmacology, disease processes, and hospital software.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
