About The Position
Averett University is seeking highly energetic Nursing Clinical Instructors for its Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program located in Norfolk, VA. The primary responsibility of the Nursing Clinical Instructor is to provide clinical education to students enrolled in the ABSN program. Instructors will be assigned to teach in clinical areas at partner healthcare facilities in the Norfolk area, specifically focusing on Long Term Care (LTC). The role requires instructors to contribute significantly to the education of nursing students, emphasizing psychomotor skills, standards of practice, and critical thinking. This position is crucial in supporting the next generation of nurses in the community, ensuring they are well-prepared to meet the demands of the healthcare workforce. In this role, Clinical Instructors will facilitate effective student learning within the assigned clinical settings. They will provide guidance to students regarding professionalism, practice, and research, ensuring that learning activities are well-organized and aligned with course objectives. Instructors are responsible for evaluating student practice effectively and promoting evidence-based practices. A supportive learning environment is essential, and instructors will provide constructive feedback on student progress to supervisory personnel. Collaboration with other faculty members, administration, and healthcare partners is also a key aspect of this position. Instructors are expected to attend all required orientation, training, and faculty meetings to stay updated on program requirements and educational standards.
