About The Position

Grid One Solutions is seeking a full-time Utility Meter Technician willing to travel to join our organization supporting a project with Avangrid in NYSEG service area. Candidates that are local to the Plattsburg, NY and Mechanicsville, NY areas are preferred. Short term travel will be required for training and to gain field experience until field operations begin in mid to late April 2025. Once field operations begin, you will work in your local divisions and travel will be minimal. All accommodations will be handled by GOS. As a Utility Meter Technician, you will perform the change out of existing electric meters, install module upgrades to gas meters, and assume responsibility for the safe operation of company vehicle, equipment, and tools. You will perform up to standards within time frames outlined by the Field Supervisor and Project Manager and learn how to utilize the computer system to plan and complete your daily work.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work with little supervision.
• Ability to walk between 6 to 8 miles per day.
• Ability to read meters and willingness to learn to operate new equipment.
• Strong directional skills and ability to read and understand maps via GPS instruments.
• Computer and smartphone literate.
• Ability to pass a DOT pre-employment drug screening.

Nice To Haves

• Utility meter installation and utility meter reading experience preferred.
• Mechanical and/or electrical experience preferred.
• Experience in the use of hand and power tools.

Responsibilities
