About The Position

Our client is seeking a short-term AV Technician to stabilize and standardize our conference room environments. This role is ideal for a mid-level AV pro who can not only maintain and troubleshoot systems but also design, build, and stand up new rooms from scratch. You’ll be the point person for ensuring consistent, reliable meeting experiences across multiple rooms.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of professional experience deploying and supporting corporate AV/conference room solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to stand up rooms from scratch (design, install, configure, test).
  • Strong troubleshooting across audio (DSP, echo/feedback), video (resolutions, EDID, HDCP), control systems, and networked AV.
  • Hands-on experience with common ecosystems: Conferencing: Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms (or similar) Control/AV platforms: Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS, Biamp, Shure, Sennheiser Video transport: HDMI/HDBaseT, USB, NDI/SRT (nice to have)
  • Comfortable with firmware updates, device provisioning, and basic network concepts (VLANs, QoS for AV traffic).
  • Excellent documentation habits and communication skills; thrives in an onsite, user-facing role.

  • Video transport: HDMI/HDBaseT, USB, NDI/SRT (nice to have)

Responsibilities

  • Stabilize Conference Rooms: Assess current AV setups, identify root causes of recurring issues, and implement durable fixes to improve reliability, audio clarity, video quality, and user experience.
  • New Room Standups: Plan, install, and configure end-to-end AV solutions for new or refreshed rooms (displays, audio DSPs, amplifiers, microphones, cameras, switching, cabling, control systems).
  • System Integration & Configuration: Configure and optimize conferencing platforms (e.g., Zoom Rooms, Microsoft Teams Rooms, Webex), room controllers (Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS), and signal paths (HDMI/HDBaseT).
  • Preventative Maintenance: Develop and run checklists for daily/weekly room health (firmware updates, calibration, cable management, inventory).
  • Troubleshooting & Support: Provide rapid, onsite break/fix support for live meetings; document fixes and create repeatable runbooks.
  • Standards & Documentation: Create or update room standards (BOMs, diagrams, rack elevations, network requirements) and user-friendly quick-start guides.
  • Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination: Work with facilities, networking, and external vendors for procurement, scheduling, and escalations.
  • Training & Handover: Train local users and IT staff; deliver clean documentation and a stabilization report at the end of the engagement.
