Position Summary The full-time AV Technician plays a key role in supporting and implementing AV technology, systems, and processes that support the production environment at Ford Wyoming Center. In this role, you will provide support for all presentation video, audio, digital media assets, IPTV, and LED display technology during event and non-event times. This role pays an hourly rate of $18.00 to $21.00 Benefits for Full-Time roles: Health, Dental and Vision Insurance, 401(k) Savings Plan, 401(k) matching, and Paid Time Off (vacation days, sick days, and 11 holidays) This position will remain open until May 22, 2026. About the Venue Formerly the Casper Events Center, the venue was renamed to the Ford Wyoming Cente r in January 2021. The Center is a 28,000 square foot multi-purpose facility, built high on a hill overlooking the city of Casper, Casper Mountain, and the scenic Platte River Valley. Funded entirely by the City’s portion of an optional 1% sales tax, the venue opened on April 17, 1982. The arena features a horseshoe-shaped seating bowl with 8,000 seats. The Ford Wyoming Center hosts a variety of different events each year, including concerts, sporting events, family shows, trade shows, competitions, religious services, bull riding competitions, commencement ceremonies, lectures, and political rallies, among other corporate and community events. The arena is host to the Wyoming High School Basketball, Volleyball, and Wrestling Tournaments, the Wyoming High School Art Symposium, Wyoming High School Marching Band Competition, and Wyoming High School Spirit and Cheer Competition. The venue has been home of the College National Finals Rodeo each June since 2001. The Ford Wyoming Center is owned by the City of Casper, Wyoming, and is proudly managed by OVG360, a division of Oak View Group.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of electronics and electrical systems, Audio and Video systems, fiber and lighting systems preferred.
  • Working knowledge of production systems, including video switchers, routers, audio, and video streaming equipment.
  • Experience with lighting, sound, and video equipment, including wireless mics, mixers, amplifiers, speakers, video boards, etc.
  • Experience with multi-camera production.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays shifts as needed.
  • Working knowledge of DMX controls.
  • Experience with signal routing and patching.
  • Must be able to competently analyze, prioritize, and relay information to make appropriate recommendations for various productions.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to successfully communicate with the public, other employees, live production and communications staff, and vendors.
  • Must be able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be organized and detail-oriented.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills, working with both internal and external clients.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior Daktronics experience is a plus.
  • Exposure to Windows Operating Systems is a plus.
  • College degree (Associates or above) in an AV technical field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supply AV support to all events, shows, and concerts.
  • Support the Operations department in all technical needs during setup, running, and take-down of events.
  • Providing great customer service to all clients and employees with AV and IT needs.
  • Assist in the installation of new technology throughout buildings.
  • Maintain all security standards of the Ford Wyoming Center at all times.
  • Set and strike portable sound systems, microphones, projectors, and lighting equipment for various events and internal needs.
  • Assist event staff and production staff of events in the building as they relate to the videoboard, in-house feeds, audio systems, and intercoms.
  • Keep an accurate inventory of tools, machinery, and cleaning supplies related to audio-visual equipment.
  • Perform off-season maintenance and preventive maintenance projects.
  • Maintain equipment storage and ensure an orderly and clean storage area.
  • Support, maintain, repair, and inventory all AV Equipment.
  • Support, maintain, repair, and inventory all electrical distribution equipment.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with all vendors.
  • Additional IT work as needed.
