About The Position

The Information Technologies Department at Worcester State University is seeking a dedicated student worker to support the maintenance and repair of classroom AV equipment. Requirements

• Current enrollment as a student at Worcester State University (required).
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to provide excellent customer service.
• Familiarity with PCs and AV equipment (preferred but not required; training provided).
• Experience using basic hand tools (e.g., screwdrivers, pliers) is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to lift and move equipment (up to 40 lbs) and work in various classroom settings.

Responsibilities

• Respond to help desk tickets related to classroom AV equipment, including troubleshooting projectors, speakers, controllers, and PCs.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues with AV systems, ensuring minimal disruption to classroom activities.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections of AV equipment to maintain functionality.
• Assist with basic repairs and system configurations using standard hand tools.
• Communicate effectively with faculty and staff to address AV-related concerns and provide updates on ticket resolutions.
• Document ticket details, including issues identified and solutions implemented.
