About The Position

TEKsystems is looking for an AV Service Engineer to service their existing customers in the Greater Philadelphia area. Seeking candidates who are well versed troubleshooters in Audio Video technology. Potential candidates must have experience with major AV brands such as Crestron and Biamp. The role involves providing in-person troubleshooting of audio video systems found in executive board rooms and conference centers. The successful candidate will work from home and be dispatched to client sites in the Greater Philadelphia (PA, NJ, DE) area to troubleshoot and resolve AV issues. This position requires professionalism and the ability to interface with enterprise customers. The role also involves troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues related to Custom Control systems (Crestron DM and NVX / AMX), complex audio video systems in executive board rooms and conference centers, video teleconferencing equipment and systems, Audio Visual over IP (AVoIP) networks for audio-visual data over LAN, WAN and internet, audio DSP based systems (amplifiers, speakers, microphones), projection display devices and systems, video wall equipment and systems, digital signage equipment and systems, and to a lesser degree, RF Systems (analog and digital).

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7-8 or more years of experience with AV integration and/ or AV field service
  • Well versed troubleshooter in Audio Video technology
  • Experience with major AV brands such as Crestron and Biamp
  • Ability to troubleshoot and understand Crestron systems
  • Ability to reverse engineer legacy AV systems
  • Ability to debug newly built systems
  • Experience with testing using a multimeter and ability to troubleshoot issues
  • Ability to research and specify replacement products
  • Intermediate to advanced AV Networking skills
  • Ability to crimp and solder cabling and connectors
  • Advanced knowledgeable of signal flow and low voltage electrical concepts; i.e., Ohms law
  • Customer interfacing skills and experience interfacing with customers regularly
  • A two-year diploma from a college of technical school, or equivalent experience
  • 3 years minimum field service experience
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Must be able to stand, kneel and/or crouch for long periods of time
  • Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolding
  • Must be able to lift in excess of 50 pounds

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to Extron equipment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to Biamp, QSC audio DSP products and systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to Cisco, POLY, LOGITECH video conference systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to Luxul, NETGEAR, CISCO switches
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to Video wall systems: Planar, UNILUMEN, LG, Samsung, Barco products and systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues with Custom Control systems: Crestron DM and NVX / AMX
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues with complex audio video systems found in executive board rooms and conference centers
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues with video teleconferencing equipment and systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues with Audio Visual over IP (AVoIP) networks for the use of audio-visual data over LAN, WAN and internet
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues with audio DSP based systems to include amplifiers, speakers and microphones
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues with projection display devices and systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues with video wall equipment and systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues with digital signage equipment and systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues with RF Systems (analog and digital)
  • Conduct Preventative Maintenance testing
  • Perform Site surveys related to service agreement quotes
  • Write concise service reports and or system site surveys
  • Successfully manage multiple service projects
  • Lead and mentor junior/intermediate level field service techs
