THE POSITION Reporting organisationally to the Senior Event Technology Manager, the AV manager will be a key member of the FIFA26 Technology team, and work in close collaboration with the Technology teams based in Canada, Mexico and Zurich and other key individuals. The role will be responsible for the strategic planning, the management and / or implementation of audiovisual services across back of house operations in stadiums and other venues including press conference services, AV products, command centres and specific operational spaces.

  • University degree or similar higher education, in AV engineering
  • Detailed knowledge and experience in managing AV suppliers/partners

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent Leadership skills and able to manage and motivate other team members.
  • Experience and familiarity of ITSM protocols
  • Highly adept at consulting, negotiating, communicating, consensus building and facilitation.
  • Minimum of 10 years overall Event technology experience and minimum 4 years of experience in a similar role
  • Experience in the sports / major event industry
  • Proven track record of managing complex international sporting events
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio & Project) and planning software and online collaboration tools

  • Spanish and/or French proficiency is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Technical Expertise: Have an in-depth and operational understanding of relevant AV protocols and / or technologies including the design, configuration, and implementation across Dante, AES67, SDI, ST2110 and HDMI. The role will also require in depth expertise in technologies such as video distribution feeds and application / product integration(s).
  • Collaborate and Plan: Work with event organizers, venue staff, and IT service management teams throughout the entire lifecycle of planning and delivering AV services for back-of-house operations, including press conferences, functional area centres, IBC(s) and command centers.
  • AV Integration: Shall deliver AV related integrations including the design, configurations, implementation for partners such as media, broadcast.
  • Setup and Configuration: Oversee the setup, configuration, and testing of AV equipment, ensuring compliance with IT service management standards.
  • Maintenance and Upgrades: Ensure that all AV services have undergone the appropriate maintenance and upgrades to ensure performance and reliability.
  • Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation on AV requirements, budgeting, topologies, architecture, configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Support Model: Define and implement a best-in-class adequate support model in accordance with the wider technology service delivery requirements, for AV services across the AV footprint for the event(s). This shall include technical support during events, approach to troubleshooting issues, and coordinate with Technology and local AV teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Service Management: Handle AV service requests, incidents, and changes according to ITIL processes.
