While programming experience is a bonus, it is not required for this role—physical install mastery and the ability to lead on-site are the top priorities.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on AV installation experience, including structured wiring, mounting, terminations, rack building, and basic networking
  • Experience leading or mentoring team members in a residential setting
  • Familiarity with Lutron, Control4, Savant, or Crestron (proficiency in at least one platform strongly preferred)
  • Strong networking skills, including configuration and troubleshooting of wired and wireless networks
  • Excellent communication skills and client-facing demeanor
  • Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
  • Capable of working independently and managing small teams
  • Valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • Programming experience is a plus but not required

Responsibilities

  • Lead installation of residential AV, lighting, shading, surveillance, network/Wi-Fi, and automation systems
  • Supervise and mentor junior technicians and helpers on job sites
  • Coordinate with the owner and project team to ensure efficient scheduling and execution
  • Serve as a professional, client-facing representative during installations
  • Ensure installs are completed accurately, cleanly, and to the highest standard
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues independently
  • Collaborate on continuous improvement of field operations
