About The Position

The Field Engineer will assist in the testing and commissioning of all aspects of the technical delivery of an audio-visual project. Field Engineers are the technical leader’s onsite, providing assistance and mentorship to technicians and expertise for customers. The Field Engineer will also be scheduled for break fix and troubleshooting response for customers and will help efficiently resolve customer issues in a timely and customer friendly manner.

Requirements

  • Able to follow directions of a Senior FE for networked device addressing, program loading, signal path verification, and firmware updating
  • Without support, connect to various IP/USB control system for configuration and setting adjustment
  • Can self-commission and train, point to point rooms
  • Is working towards proficiency in LINX standards of programming, QA/QC
  • Can self-commission and train, DMPS boardroom rooms
  • Can identify system bugs to programmer/Senior FE
  • Has a Basic understanding of AV solutions
  • Is proficient in LINX standards of programming, QA/QC
  • Can self-commission, DM and NVX Divisible type rooms
  • Takes all commissioning issues on
  • Can identify, fix or task out installation issues with project team
  • Holds the work of the project and teammates to Linx standards
  • Has a good understanding of AV solutions, is empowered to make adjustment to design to meet scope requirements
  • Is proficient in LINX standards and is able hold others to these standards
  • Can fix any programming bugs and issues with only direction from programming (Minimal remote in support)
  • Leads a group of field Engineers on site for a large project
  • Tracks his/her budget on the project
  • Can train other Field Engineers the LINX way
  • Can take on any aspect of completing the project- Ordering through Procurement, Customer coordination, onsite management

Responsibilities

  • Test integrated systems and perform troubleshooting for AMX/Crestron and DSP systems
  • Write code for DSP systems
  • Self-commission and train on DMPS boardroom rooms
  • Identify system bugs to programmer/Senior Field Engineer
  • Make recommendations to project Manager and Senior Field Engineer on design/scope issues
  • Make minor programming changes under the direction of an engineer or programmer
  • Fine tune audio video systems to ensure optimal performance
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Willing and able to travel up to 25% of the time within the US
